Albert J Mora’s blue-collar origins, education, and professional career have prepared him to serve California’s 48th Congressional District and strengthen the Democratic Party with skill, passion, and integrity.

Born to hardworking parents in East Chicago, Indiana, Albert learned the values of community and resilience from an early age.  As a union crane operator, his father loaded steel that traveled around the world, while his mother worked in the Lake County Prosecutor’s office. Their emphasis on education led Albert and his siblings to earn six university degrees combined.

Albert’s journey embodies the American Dream, from his beginnings delivering newspapers through Chicago’s frigid winters to completing his education and building an international executive career. His passions for history and science laid the foundation for his academic excellence, earning him a full-ride scholarship to Purdue University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business.

Albert’s career began as Cash Manager for the City of Gary, Indiana, where he gained his first investing experience and learned the inner workings of government and politics.  Driven to grow, he entered the University of Chicago, where he received a LEAD scholarship and earned his MBA.

Upon completing his MBA, Albert entered investment banking at First Chicago Capital Markets (now part of JP Morgan Chase), where he provided financial services to completing an Ivy League education to international corporations and financial institutions, managing multi-billion dollar transactions around the globe.

Albert is excited to meet with and serve his constituents, and join his Congressional colleagues in reverting America to her international leadership of democracy and freedom.  His lifetime of growth and achievement were outstanding preparation to bring fresh ideas and energy to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Albert treasures his diverse circle of family and friends spread around the world. He is active in community outreach, and is volunteer treasurer and board member of the Encinitas Historical Society.

Albert moved his family to Orange County in 1997 and has lived in San Diego County since 2012.  He enjoys exploring across the 48th District’s diverse climate and spectacular natural beauty.

As Congressman, first and foremost I will stand for the U.S. Constitution and freedom.  I will collaborate with my colleagues in Washington D.C. to fulfill the House of Representatives’ constitutional duties of overseeing the Executive branch and design and enact legislation that benefits all Americans.

I will listen to my constituent’s concerns and dreams.  I will work in every critical area including to create life sustaining jobs, implement strong, humane border control, legalize deserving immigrants, develop affordable housing, provide quality healthcare, defend women’s reproductive rights, attend to military and veteran needs, support education, promote sensible gun control, mitigate fires, and modernize water infrastructure across the 3600-square mile 48th District.
