Albert was born and raised in the blue-collar community of Northwest Indiana, where his mother was a clerk in the County Prosecutor’s office and his father was a steel mill crane operator. Their example of community, love of life, hard work, and deep regard for education led their children to expand their horizons, receive six university degrees, and build careers as educators and business professionals. Albert received an MBA and built a 25-year career in investment banking and corporate treasury in Fortune 100 corporations.
Albert’s career began as Cash Manager for the City of Gary, Indiana, where he gained his first investing experience and learned the inner workings of government and politics. Albert's passion for history and science laid the foundation for his academic excellence, earning him a full-ride scholarship to Purdue University, where he later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business. With the goal of pursuing an investment banking career, Albert entered the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, where he received a LEAD Scholarship.
