Water is the lifeblood of Southern California, and as a business veteran I will promote pragmatic, data-driven solutions to ensure a reliable water future for our homes, farms, and businesses.
The 48th District relies on water imported from Northern California and the Colorado River, making us vulnerable to drought, climate change, and shifting state and federal policies. Recent years have seen wild swings in precipitation from drought to intense storms that help temporarily but don’t solve long-term issues.
Among the most significant developments is the Delta Conveyance Project proposing a tunnel to move water from the Sacramento River to Southern California. The project aims to safeguard against climate change, but it has sparked controversy due to environmental concerns including impact on the Delta’s ecosystem. In this solution as in all, I support a balanced approach that protects water security and natural resources, guided by science, public input, and sustainability.
As your representative, I will advocate for working collaboratively with state and federal agencies, local water districts, and environmental groups to
increase federal investment in water infrastructure, modernize aging pipelines, expand water recycling, support desalination research, and champion smart conservation and transparency in water management.
